Event Description

revive285 top end is an innovative approach by the Georgia Department of Transportation in conjunction with the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority to develop a comprehensive solution for the vital top end of the I-285 corridor. The focus of revive285 top end is to develop an overall corridor concept for the portion of I-285 extending from I-75 to I-85 that will:

complete the level of environmental study required to advance to final design and construction
incorporate each of the separate projects currently planned and programmed in the corridor
examine projects for opportunities for enhancement to maximize their benefit to the corridor
consider the information and data available from numerous relevant studies, projects, and programs

The revive285 top end corridor also includes the portion of I-75 from Windy Hill Road to I-285.

Biography

Frank L. Danchetz has served as Business Practice Director for Transportation Design at ARCADIS, G&M, Inc. since January of 2004. Previously, he was Chief Engineer of the Georgia Department of Transportation for ten years and held several other positions, including Head of the Office of Environment and Location, Director of Planning and Programming and as a Design Group Leader. He is a registered professional engineer in Georgia and was Vice Chair of the AASHTO Standing Committee on Highways, and a member of the AASHTO Standing Committee on Research. He received a bachelor of civil engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Mr. Danchetz is a current member of TRB’s Research and Technology Coordinating Committee.
