			<description>By Mittie Rooney  Bethesda, MD, December 16, 2009 &#8211; In a speech on Tuesday, President Barack Obama urged Congress to provide retrofit funding to building and home owners to improve energy efficiency in buildings by replacing doors, roofing, and adding more insulation. The President even said the idea may not be very glamorous, but he finds insulation sexy. 			<title>Ronald Schwartz a Candidate for Southeast Region Institute Director</title>
			<description>  Dear Southeast Region Members:  I came to Florida in 1970, recruited as a manager of a new division marketing doors, frames and hardware. Realizing I knew nothing about the South Florida construction market place, I looked for an organization that would afford me contacts. The first organization I joined was the Fort Lauderdale Chapter of CSI. Not only did I make contacts with specifying architects, I learned a tremendous amount about preparing specifications. The success that I enjoyed can be attributed to my participation in CSI. It allowed me to work with many prestigious architectural firms including three national presidents, Ross Spiegel, Sheldon Israel, and the late Richard Solomon.  I was part of the group of Industry members that campaigned at the national convention for the equality of Industry members. When the Institute changed the By-laws to allow Industry members to serve as presidents, I became the first Industry president of the Fort Lauderdale Chapter. At the...

			<title>CSI to Debut GreenFormat at Greenbuild International Conference and Expo</title>
			<description>ALEXANDRIA, Va. (October 22, 2008) &#8211; The Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) will introduce GreenFormat&#8482; (www.greenformat.com) at the U.S. Green Building Council&#8217;s Greenbuild Conference and Expo (November 18-20, Boston). Demonstrations of the format will be conducted throughout the event in booth #352.  CSI will also offer an education session, CSI GreenFormat: Review of the Construction Product Sustainability Reporting Guide Release Version. The session is open to all conference attendees on a first-come, first-serve basis and will take place Wednesday, Nov. 19, at noon.  CSI and the Metropolitan New York Chapter will also hold a post-conference education session, 2-6pm, Friday, November 21.
