Discovery High School - Adaptive Reuse

Renovation of a former tire distribution center to a 2,000 student  high school. The design process and the challenges of using an existing structure will be presented.

The presentation will review the history of the project, review the commission by the client, address the challenges of renovating an existing building, and explain the features of the building.

The presenter: Jeff Miller, Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates, Inc.

Jeff Miller is a registered architect and an associate with Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates, Inc. Jeff graduated from Miami University and has worked in the Atlanta area for over 22 years. His focus has been on K-12 education projects for several area school districts. He has also worked on hotel projects, corporate office projects  and was the onsite architect for the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
