The presentation is on the works of my grandfather, Attilio Savoia during his career with the Italian Ministry of Transport, where he managed the model making department in Rome.
It begins with a discussion of his first architectural model when he was 14 and has historic film of his 1-200 scale model of the Rome Train Terminal and the 1-100 scale exact replica of St. Peters Basilica when, upon its completion in 1950, was blessed by Pope Pius XII.
There is a TV interview of my father Lucio Savoia during the two year, 48 city US tour, discussing the planning and construction materials of the replica. It also details Attilio's exact replica of St. Mark's Square in Venice and concludes with a video of the art museum in Chicago where the St. Peter's replica is on display.
